Barely breathing

Lifehouse has some amazing songs, and this one is the closest to describing my barely beating heart now.  I'm so thankful that the Lord holds on to us and pulls us through when times are hard!

The broken clock is a comfort
It helps me sleep tonight
Maybe it can start tomorrow
From stealing all my time

And i am here still waiting
Though i still have my doubts
I am damaged at best
Like you've already figured out

I'm falling apart
I'm barley breathing
With a broken heart
That's still beating
In the pain
There is healing
In your name
I find meaning
So i'm holding on
I'm holding on
I'm holding on
I'm barely holding on to you

The broken locks were a warning
You got inside my head
I tried my best to be guarded
I'm an open book instead

And i still see your reflection
Inside of my eyes
That are looking for purpose
They're still looking for life

I'm falling apart
I'm barely breathing
With a broken heart
That's still beating

In the pain
(in the pain)
Is there healing?
In your name
(in your name)
I find meaning

So i'm holding on
(i'm still holding)
I'm holding on
(i'm still holding)
I'm holding on
(i'm still holding)
I'm barely holding on to you

I'm hanging on another day
Just to see what you will throw my way
And i'm hanging on to the words you say
You said that i will be okay

Broken lights on the freeway
Left me here alone
I may have lost my way now
I haven't forgotten my way home

I'm falling apart
I'm barely breathing
With a broken heart
That's still beating

In the pain
(in the pain)
There is healing
In your name
(in your name)
I find meaning

So i'm holding on
(i'm still holding)
I'm holding on
(i'm still holding)
I'm holding on
(i'm still holding)
I'm barely holding on to you

I'm holding on
(i'm still holding)
I'm holding on
(i'm still holding)
I'm holding on
(i'm still holding)
I'm barely holding on to you

That's the way it ought to be...

I have a very unique blessing in my life of many, many kindred spirits.  The Lord has overwhelmed me with friends who I know will be by my side forever, supporting me, and lifting me up when I need it most.  One of those dearly cherished souls sent me this song the other day, and it brought tears to my eyes.  I am humbled to know that I am able to make others feel safe, secure, and blessed just as I have been... So, Mish, I'm posting this one for you, in the midst of hard times.  Thank you to you, and many others, including my WEASels, Amy and Cory who fight off my enemies and speak truth over my life...

More Than You'll Ever Know by Watermark

Something brought you to my mind today
I thought about the funny ways you make me laugh
And yet I feel like it's okay to cry with you
Something about just being with you
When I leave I feel like I've been near God
And that's the way it ought to be...

CHORUS:
'Cause you've been more than a friend to me
You fight off my enemies
'Cause you've spoken the Truth over my life
And you'll never know what it means to me
Just to know you've been on your knees for me
Oh, you have blessed my life
More than you'll ever know, yeah, yeah, yeah
More than you'll ever know, yeah, yeah, yeah

You had faith,
when I had none
You prayed God would bring me a brand new song
When I didn't think I could find the strength to sing
And all the while I'm hoping that I'll
Do the kind of praying for you that you've done for me
And that's the way it ought to be...

You have carried me
You have taken upon a burden that wasn't your own
And may the blessing return to you
A hundredfold, oh yeah...
A hundredfold, oh yeah...
